GERALD POSNER (B. 1954), a resident of Miami Beach, is an investigative journalist and the best-selling author of 13 books, including “Case Closed: Lee Harvey Oswald and the Assassination of JFK” (1993), “Killing the Dream: James Earl Ray and the Assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.” (1998), “Miami Babylon,” the history of the rise, the fall, and the resurrection of Miami and Miami Beach (2009), “Why America Slept,” which discusses the conspiracy of the al-Qaeda terrorists (and possibly Saudi royals) who were responsible for the September 11th attacks, “God’s Bankers” (2015), a 200-year history of Vatican finances and the Vatican Bank, and most recently, “Pharma: Greed, Lies, and the Poisoning of America” (2020).

In 2010, Tony and his band were invited to perform al fresco at a Halloween party on Lincoln Road in the heart of South Beach. The invitation included a special request to play Michael Jackson’s classic Thriller. In considering how he would perform Thriller, Tony thought, “Why don’t I put it through a salsa filter.” And the moment provided a spark that ignited Succar on a five-year odyssey, culminating in the production and release of Unity: The Latin Tribute to Michael Jackson, featuring many of the world’s best Latin musicians and vocalists.
