Founded by editor-in-chief Raymond Elman, Inspicio is sponsored by the School of Communication + Journalism in The College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts at Florida International University, and provides high-quality, in-depth insights into all arts disciplines with a focus on Miami and South Florida.

The curated video interviews listed below are presented in a unique multi-clip format and will be available for viewing at your leisure until the end of February, after which they will be replaced with a new group of curated video interviews.

Between Friends:  Susan Mailer + Esther Amini.

 

SUSAN MAILER is Norman Mailer’s first born. She grew up between Mexico City and New York, between her mother and her father.  She is now a psychiatrist living with her husband in Santiago, Chile.

ESTHER AMINI is a writer, painter, and psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice. “Concealed” is her first memoir. It’s the story of the first American-born child of Persian Crypto-Jews, and the first literate daughter ever in their centuries-old lineage.

Mailer and Amini met at Barnard College and became lifelong friends.

She founded the Diaspora Vibe Culture Arts Incubator (DVCAI) to serve as a local and global laboratory dedicated to promoting, nurturing, and cultivating the vision and diverse talents of emerging artists from the Caribbean Diaspora, artists of color, and immigrant artists.
