JOSEPH KRUTEL is a TV and film producer who divides his time between Los Angeles, New York City, and his native Miami.

Krutel began his career in Miami working for the iconic director / producer, Michael Mann, in a production role on Miami Vice.

His most recent film, Critical Thinking, directed by and starring John Leguizamo, is set in 1998 Miami.  It’s the story of Black teenagers in an underserved Miami community, who eventually win the national chess championship.

Krutel was a producer on the hit TV series “Ballers,” which was co-produced by Steven Levinson and Mark Wahlberg, featuring Dwayne Johnson and Rob Corddry, whose character is named Joe Krutel – a nod to Mr. Krutel’s deal-making.

Krutel worked with producer / director Brett Ratner on projects including New Line Cinemas’, Money Talks, featuring Chris Tucker and Charlie Sheen; Rush Hour featuring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, and its sequel Rush Hour 2, as well as The Family Man, featuring Nicolas Cage.

Additional credits include Disney’s, The Crew, featuring Jeremy Piven, Richard Dreyfuss, and Burt Reynolds, as well as New Line Cinemas’, Next Friday featuring Ice Cube and Mike Epps.

Krutel is a graduate of Tulane University.
