MICHAEL T. KLARE is an author, educator and public speaker who studies issues related to war and peace. Klare also studies resource competition and international affairs. As the Five College Professor of Peace and World Security Studies, based at Hampshire College, he teaches courses on resource politics, contemporary conflict, and world affairs. Klare also teaches at Amherst College, Smith College, Mount Holyoke College, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is a defense correspondent for The Nation magazine and author of All Hell Breaking Loose: The Pentagon’s Perspective on Climate Change; Resource Wars; Blood and Oil: The Dangers and Consequences of America’s Growing Dependency on Imported Petroleum, among others.
